October 5 Remove the Fear of Repotting your Orchids

Janeil Payne will be teaching us about different potting media, containers, and ways to repot your orchids so you can do it yourself with less fear and trembling!  Janeil lives in Oregon and has studied Ornamental Horticulture at California Polytechnic State University. She is a Master Gardener and a member of the American Orchid Society Education Committee. After her presentation, we’ll have our usual table judging and orchid raffle.  Join us!

Orchids 101 will be in the greenhouse at 2pm, with Lorna leading a discussion on bringing orchids inside for winter.

REMEMBER OUR SHOW is coming up on October 10-12! Friday the 10th is setup for the show. Please pay attention to signups being handed out at our meeting as we need your help to arrange tables and chairs, and get our vendors in the door with all their orchids and supplies. During the show, we need society members to help man the GNTOS table and be on hand to answer questions, etc., as well as provide food for the vendors and orchid members helping with the show. We also need clerks to help with the judging taking place Friday evening. Sunday afternoon is tear down and cleanup. SO – plan on helping out (and having some fun too!).
